Sustainability policy
Net Zero by 2050
Rapiergroup's sustainability policy is designed as a comprehensive framework to guide our team, clients, and partners towards our environmental goals. By actioning our commitments, we will incorporate sustainability throughout our business practices to be Net Zero by 2050.
Our policy outlines our key commitments around:
- Stakeholder collaboration
- Embedding circular economy principles
- Sustainable procurement
- Measurement and reporting
- Reducing emissions from transport and travel
It is underpinned by our ISO standards [ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO20121, ISO22301, ISO27001 and ISO45001], which provide a solid foundation for compliance and continuous improvement.
With the support of our Sustainability Team, we are committed to innovative, adaptable strategies that respond to changing environmental standards and expectations.
Our key objectives
Stakeholder Collaboration
Acknowledging that meaningful change can only happen when we all work together, Rapiergroup prioritises collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
We commit to empowering employees through education to foster a climate-conscious culture.
As members of isla, we will support our staff with training and resources as well as participating in networking opportunities to build our knowledge through peer-to-peer learning.
We endeavour to share these learnings with clients and our supply chain while fostering two-way communication, taking on board feedback and knowledge from our partners.
Sustainable Procurement
Our environmental impact extends beyond Rapiergroup and into our supply chain. We are actively diversifying our roster of suppliers, prioritising partners who align with our standards for quality, value, and sustainability.
Our first priority is to audit our existing suppliers and develop a procurement policy that enforces our sustainability criteria. The insights gained from this process will be used to introduce a weighted scoring system to help us prioritise suppliers who demonstrate strong commitments to sustainability, diversity, and ethical practices.
Circular Economy
The Circular Economy is a system aimed at eliminating waste and ensuring the continual use of resources.
The practice prioritises redesigning products and processes to reduce and eliminate waste. This is followed by reuse and repurposing of existing products or assets, before looking at alternative ways of using or processing products - like refurbishing.
We have a 10-year target to begin designing zero waste events. We will reach this by integrating Circular Economy thinking from the design phase all the way through to waste disposal.
To reach this gold standard we will:
- Identify educational needs within the team and build out resources and training
- Implement circular principles into each event, prioritising hired items and including an asset-end-of-life plan for materials
- Build local partnerships with organisations who can support enabling circularity across key event destinations
- Engage with venues and suppliers on waste management
