Corporate Social Responsibility
At Rapiergroup we realise the importance of working in a way that supports our community. The success of our business and of the communities within which we operate requires a commitment to the sustainable management of our activities. To support this, we have developed a CSR policy focusing upon 6 areas and committing to the following principles and practices.
- Our employees:
- Our clients:
- Our suppliers;
- health & safety;
- environment; and
- the community.
1. Our employees
We recognise that our employees are our most important resource. We are committed to the well-being and continual development of our people. We have a clear set of values that we communicate across the business and form the foundations to how we work.
Our key values are as follows:
- Do the right thing
- Open minded
- Team Player
- Humbly confident
- Team player
We acknowledge the importance of communication and have adopted the EOS system that promotes a simple, straightforward way of working for employees and managers alike. Through clear communication, our employees understand their role and how they contribute to the business.
We believe in training our employees and building a culture in which employees develop with us. Our employees are given regular feedback and are recognised and rewarded on the basis of their performance, effort, contribution and achievements.
In “doing the right thing” we expect our employees to act with integrity towards one another and exercise a high standard of business practice and workmanship.
We encourage diversity, fairness and inclusion and involve and consult with employees regularly through company updates, team meetings and employees survey as to the direction of the business.
2. Our clients
We are dedicated to providing consistently high levels of service to our customers. Through this we endeavour to build strong and lasting relationships that evolve over time. We take an honest and transparent approach to our work and strive for excellence.
We acknowledge that we are working within a competitive market, we aim to give fair value, consistent quality and reliability.
We are committed to maintaining our accreditation to ISO9001 Quality and Customer Experience.
3. Suppliers
We look to work with suppliers who share our values, through this we hope to create and maintain strong relationships. Our intention is to choose suppliers that share our ethos in relation to employment practices, quality and environmental controls. Our expectations are communicated to all suppliers and potential suppliers.
Rapiergroup has a formal sustainable tender/procurement strategy in place. Suppliers are asked to share their sustainability development policy and demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. Suppliers are considered against many sustainability factors. Educational assistance and encouragement are given to smaller suppliers, or suppliers new to sustainability.
Suppliers are always paid on time.
4. Health & Safety
We aim to achieve and maintain the highest standards of health and safety and provide a safe and healthy working environment for all our stakeholders.
We have a current and effective written health and safety policy that is regularly reviewed and updated. We also operate within an integrated risk management system that comprises procedures for health and safety in addition to quality, sustainability, business continuity and information security. The management system complies with ISO 45001, legal and other requirements and ensures that we deliver in these areas across all levels of the business.
5. Environment
We are aware of our environmental impact as a business and have taken and continue to take appropriate steps to mitigate that impact.
At Rapiergroup we operate within an integrated risk management system that comprises procedures for environment and sustainability. The management system complies with ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 20121 (Sustainability in Events), legal and other requirements, and ensures that we deliver in these areas across all levels of the business.
Rapiergroup extends its sustainability commitment across all areas of its business and seeks to develop an ethos of sustainability and environmental responsibility in all its staff and contractors. This is based on the recognition that we must contribute at local, regional, national and global levels to the equitable, viable and bearable use of natural resources. In order to achieve these aims, the company is committed to sustainability by establishing a programme of continuous improvement.
Rapiergroup is committed to reducing the impact of its activities on the environment and to the principles of sustainable development. The company promotes awareness to all stakeholders, both internally and externally, to minimise the consumption of resources and recycle where practicable. It is therefore our legal and moral responsibility, where practical, to seek to sustain and enhance the environment and encourage our customers, colleagues and suppliers to adopt a similar stance.
6. The Community
We recognise and understand the significance of the local community within which we operate. We aim to enhance our contribution to the community by being sensitive to the needs of local people and groups and promoting ethical and socially responsible trading.
We actively support and donate to charities/non-profit organisations within our community. On an annual basis we encourage employees to nominate a charity of choice, through a voting process we then conclude the charity we will support for the coming year. We encourage our employees who come up with ideas and activities that will help raise money for our chosen charity.
We encourage individual employees to take part in external charitable activities and support paid days to enable this.
We take an active role in work experience for individuals studying Events Management, and when the business allows offer works experience opportunities.
